CORE Ancillary Services

At The CORE Project, we take a collaborative approach to treatment and are proud to offer ancillary services to support individuals enrolled in our program and their families. CORE Occupational Therapy Services are led by Mia Carter, OTR/L. Mia is a certified and licensed occupational therapist who received her Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from the University of South Alabama and has provided OT services for the past 8 years.

How Can OT Help My Child?

An occupational therapist provides skilled evaluation and intervention to improve skills necessary for functional performance in daily living tasks. Occupational therapy provides evidence-based treatment for developmental delays that may be contributing to decreased independence in performance within self-care, academics, social participation, play and leisure, and work-related skills.

This includes:

  • fine motor skills

  • gross motor skills

  • bilateral coordination

  • motor planning

  • visual motor integration

  • visual perception

  • ocular motor skills

  • sensory processing

  • handwriting and expressive writing
